Unlike most other touchscreen monitors out there, which typically use either capacitive or resistive technology, the Compaq L2105tm uses a brand-new technology called Surface Acoustic Waves. Basically, the touchscreen uses ultrasonic waves to detect either your hand or the stylus. This technology is more precise than previous touchpad technologies, making the touchscreen far more accurate about detecting the position of whatever’s touching it.
The actual video part of the monitor is good, but also fairly standard. The screen is a decent 21.5 inches, and has the full high definition 1920 x 1080 resolution that we’ve all come to expect. The picture quality is very good. It connects to the computer by way of a DVI or VGA cable, as well as a USB cable to enable the touch portion of the monitor.
